Fuel cell technology

Simple Basics: 2 H2 + O2 → 2 H2O

Fuel cells, being environmentally friendly and highly efficient energy-conversion units, could potentially penetrate the market in coming years. A continuous supply of a fuel gas and air is used to directly convert chemically energy into electric and thermal energy.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION – SUPPORT FROM A TO Z

One of our aims is to establish fuel cell and hydrogen technology on the market in a number of stages. The staff at Siegel Schleimer Ingénieurs-conseils s.à r.l. has outstanding theory-based and practical knowledge in the area of fuel cell technology. We are able to incorporate fuel cell systems into new and existing equipment for residential buildings and industry.
We support our clients in the designing, feasibility studies, editing of product requirement, functional specification, and technical documentation for fuel cell and hydrogen technologies. We also offer assistance in literature and patent research and in compiling technical texts.

PERFORMING FIELD TRIALS AND RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Working together with institutions such as the centre for fuel cell technology in Duisburg, Germany (Zentrum für BrennstoffzellenTechnik (ZBT)) we are able to perform field trials and research and development projects. Our staff is able to look back on many years of experience. We are constantly looking for project partners in Luxembourg and abroad to optimise our portfolio of services for our clients.

MODELLING AND SIMULATING FUEL CELLS

Our expertise also includes the modelling and simulation of all processes in electrochemical energy converters, such as fuel cells or batteries. These services deliver solutions that are significantly faster and more cost-effective than those reported by trial-and-error approaches. Our services in the area of modelling and simulating electrochemical energy converters:

  • Pressure drop calculations
  • Calculation of complex flow fields
  • Calculation of current-density or temperature distribution
  • Optimisation of the layout and material design
